8 bodies and a heartbreaking note discovered in the desert of Libya
8 members of Sudanese family die of starvation, thirst after losing way in Libyan desert
At least 8 members of a Sudanese family died after losing their way in the Libyan desert, local media reported, noting a handwritten “will” was found.
According to local media, 21 people were journeying onboard the Toyota Sequoia when it broke down in a tranche of the desert 400km south-west of the Libyan oasis town of Kufra.
The vehicle was found early last week, some six months after the group’s departure, with a handwritten note inside penned by one of the family members named as Muzna Saifuddin Hasan.
Authorities have launched an investigation to determine how the tragic incident unfolded.
